Dates: April 27; 1-4pm, May 11; 9:00am-12:00pm, June 22; 1-4pm
For those of you who really want to learn to sew, this is the class for you! Learn the basics and build your skills as we progress through the School of Sewing book... we'll start with the very basics, learning how to thread and use the machine, identify and select the appropriate fabric for a given project, build a practical tool kit, and learn a variety of useful skills needed for a wide range of sewing projects. There will be some choice involved in the course which will allow for students to select a more challenging project should they so choose. Students may be required to do some light preparations in between class meetings.
Supplies (Use your School of Sewing Discount to get all these at FINCH!):
- Sewing Tool Kit
- School of Sewing book
- fabric and supplies for each project (please come to the first class without supplies... we will help you select the specific supplies that are best for each project)
- matching thread
***The Finch classroom is outfitted with machines and tool kits. Supplies are also all available at Finch. School of Sewing Students will receive 10% off all supplies needed throughout the course of the class (that includes machines!!). We want to help you get set up for your sewing adventure!
This course is the second half of the School of Sewing book. Projects in the second class will build upon basic sewing skills, pushing students to the next level to become more confident sewists. We'll make a tote bag, a zipper pillow and a carry-all clutch.
