Learn to Foundation Piece: Lusk Mini Quilt Workshop
Date: September 22nd, 9am - 4pm (1 hour lunch break)
Join us for a day of making as we design a mini-quilt with the Lusk pattern by Carolyn Friedlander. This angular and geometric pattern is paper-pieced and small scale so it's great for experimenting with color and small bits of fabric! We'll talk about the basics of foundation paper-piecing, how to choose fabrics and maximize fabric usage, as well as contructing a bold, personalized mini-quilt.
- Lusk Pattern
- Ruler (2.5" x 12" or 18" recommended)
- Rotary Cutter
- Add-a-Quarter ruler
- Copies of paper-piecing templates (provided!)
- Fabric requirements--Fat Quarters or medium size scraps. We recommend coming up with a color-theme inspiration or idea and then pulling fabrics the morning of class; but you can also bring a selection of fabrics if you already have some on-hand that you know you'd like to use. Total should be equivalent to 10 fat quarters or about 2.5 yards of fabric, depending on how many colors you'd like to use!
