Sock Knitting: Top Down Socks
Dates: Thursdays, September 13th, 20th, and 27th; 6:30pm - 9:00pm
Let’s just say it.. making socks is addictive! They’re great travel projects, ideal for long road trips, and perfect to bringing to knit night. But they can be a bit daunting, too!
In this three part class, we’ll go through the ins and outs of socks - from talking about the best cast ons, to talking through heel flaps and turns, to shaping the toe, and the dreaded Kitchener stitch. You’ll learn how to work in the round - on double points or two circulars, the anatomy of the sock, and gain the confidence to begin your sock knitting addiction.
- Sock Pattern (to be chosen with teacher at first class)
- 420+ yds sock weight yarn (must be a mix of wool and nylon)
- US Size 1 double pointed needles and/or ( 2)16” US Size 1 Circular Needles
